CENTRAL OKLAHOMA NAIFA
Regular Meeting
October 21, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President Riley at 6:45 pm
Members and guests were welcomed. Seven members and two guests were in attendance.
President Riley read the minutes of the April 21, 2009 meeting.
Treasurer Glinda Cordell presented gave a verbal financial report as of October 21, 2009. Cordell stated that the balance is $2,413.98. Mike Cordell made a motion to accept the financial report. Motion was seconded and motion carried.
President Riley gave an overview of the current chapter membership list. There are 77 members of which 3 are IFAS, 29 are IFA, 15 are candidates for IFA and 30 are associates. Of the membership 10 have been members for 25 years or more, with 9 having more than 20 years as members.
President Riley talked about wanting to recognize those members with more than 20 years as members at the Christmas Party/Awards Banquet. Riley asked for suggestions for additional awards to present at the meeting.
Molly Leatherwood talked about the National Conference at which she was elected treasurer for the coming year. Leatherwood stated that Central Oklahoma NAIFA shared the award for the largest growth in membership with the Portland, Oregon chapter. The next national conference is to be in Phoenix which will be the start of a year long celebration of the NAIFA’s 50th year as an organization. She stated that it is possible that the 2011 conference will be in Washington, DC. She stated that it is possible the 2012 conference could be in Oklahoma City.
The Christmas party will be at Pearl’s Lakeside Fish & grill on Lake Hefner. The date is December 12. Glinda stated that a minimum of $1,800 in food and alcohol will need to be spent to fulfill the agreement with the restaurant. The room will accommodate 55-60 people.
It was agreed that five of the totes and five of the bags which have been previously purchased will be embroidered with the NAIFA logo to be used as door prizes and/or gifts.
The drawing for a free day of education was won by Mike Cordell.
Riley encouraged everyone to submit their choices for awards so that the plaques and certificates could be ordered.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm
