On oklahomaappraiser.org, a "cookie" is a short piece of data that identifies you to the fellowship forum software. The username (also called a "password") is stored on your computer and your browser sends it to oklahomaappraiser.org when you click on a "post" button to send a message, basically it is your computer saying to oklahomaappraiser.org's computer, "Hey, it's me again."
Filling out this form does not put a cookie on your computer. It is simply an easy way for you to send e-mail asking to be registered on oklahomaappraiser.org. The moderator will register you and send you an email advising you that you are now ready to post messages on oklahomaappraiser.org. When you click on "post" you will be asked for a username (password). There will also be a check box that you can check to accept a cookie to identify yourself to oklahomaappraiser.org. If you accept the cookie, you will never need to fill in your password again when you post messages on oklahomaappraiser.org from that computer. If you don't, you will simply have to supply your password each time you post a message.
Accepting a cookie on your home computer won't keep you from posting from other computers. When you post a message from a different computer (from work, or from the library, etc.) you will just have to enter your username (password) to post.
It makes no difference to oklahomaappraiser.org whether you accept a cookie or not, but most people find it convenient to do so.
